BREAKING: Man trapped after crashing into Charlotte creek

Hello. It's Christine Nelson on this Thursday, February 28. This email I'm sending you is a first look at the stories we're covering on WBTV News This Morning. Things got pretty busy overnight so there is a lot to go over. Make sure you tune in from 4:30-7:00 a.m. to get all the details.

BREAKING: At this hour, emergency crews are still on the scene after a car crashed into a creek near Sugar Creek Parkway in Charlotte. One passenger was able to escape but that was not the immediate case for the driver. Right now we're not getting great news about how the victim is doing so far, but as we progress through the morning hopefully that will change. WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee will have live reports from the scene with details on what exactly led to this crash.

Also, an off-duty officer was pepper sprayed overnight at a local Circle K. We'll tell you why an advertisement on Craigslist led him to this location to meet two people.

EXCLUSIVE: After being shot multiple times by Mt. Holly police, Jmar Davis is speaking exclusively to WBTV News. He talks about what he remembered the night police pulled him over, and waking up in the hospital. WBTV's David Spunt has the exclusive interview.

Plus, want your kids to make better choices on what they eat?? WBTV's Astrid Martinez has a story that will give any parent hope and motivation that kids can learn to make the right decisions. Make sure to catch her full report at 6:45.

Gotta go! See you on the air.
