Man wanted for cutting off electronic monitor arrested

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man wanted on several warrants, including one for cutting off his electronic monitor, has been arrested, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Nemiah Davis, 20, was wanted on outstanding warrants for felony larceny, felony conspiracy, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

Davis was ordered to wear the monitor as a condition of his release from jail on July 15, 2012.

On February 25, 2013, police say Davis cut off his monitor.

On Thursday, March 7, Davis was arrested on Central Avenue by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT).

Davis is the sixth offender monitored by CMPD to cut off his monitor in 2013, compared to four during the same time period last year. CMPD is currently monitoring 392 offenders.
