Nearly two dozen Charlotte families displaced by fire

Hello. Hope you had a great weekend. It's Monday, February 25. Here is a look at some of the top stories we're following on WBTV News This Morning. We're on live from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

*We're covering two major fires that caused significant damage. One of them happened at a south Charlotte apartment where as many as 22 families lost their homes. It also involved a dramatic rescue by firefighters.

*We also have details on a separate fire that burned the marble factory in Gaston County to the ground. This story is still developing since officials are still there right now out of concern the fire could reignite.

We're four days away from harsh federal budget cuts also known as "sequestration." Do you understand how the sequester will affect us in our backyard? We're giving you a better understanding by telling you the services that will be affected in North AND South Carolina.

Okay, ladies would you be able to take on that challenge? If you have a young person in your home tell them to catch WBTV's Astrid Martinez story about how wearing no make-up today is helping promote self-esteem.

We're on the air now! You can catch weather and traffic updates every 10 minutes.

Gotta go,
