Southeastern Michigan authorities say a 25-year-old man was speeding in a Jeep when he lost control and pulled into oncoming traffic, where a garbage truck struck and killed him.
The Oakland County sheriff's department says the head-on crash happened about 2:40 p.m. Saturday in Pontiac.
The department says the dead man was a resident of the Monroe County community of Maybee. His name wasn't immediately released.
The department says the garbage truck driver sustained non-life threatening injuries. He's 41 and from New Haven in Macomb County.
