Man arrested after cutting off electronic monitor

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has arrested a man who cut off his electronic monitor.

Devin Goode, 20, was wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for multiple counts of breaking and entering into motor vehicles, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device, police said.

Goode was ordered to wear a CMPD electronic monitor as a condition of his release from jail on November 12.

On February 22, he found out he had an order for his arrest for missing court and cut off his electronic monitor, the report states.

On February 28, CMPD announced Goode was back in custody.

Goode was the fifth offender monitored by CMPD to cut a monitor off in 2013, and the second offender to cut a monitor off in a 24-hour period.
