Police: Man hits cruisers, wrecks running from pot bust


A Monroe man is facing thirteen charges after he tried to run from police during a drug arrest, according to the Monroe Police Department.

The incident began when the Narcotics and Violent Crimes Units were conducting a drug investigation on Morgan Mill Road. The officers were attempting to arrest Terrence Moser, 25, for the sell and deliver of approximately a quarter ounce of marijuana, police said.

However, during the attempted arrest, Moser put his vehicle in reverse and attempted to flee the scene.

While leaving the parking lot, Moser struck two police vehicles and almost hit a police officer. He then left the scene and wrecked his vehicle a short distance later, the report states.

Moser was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on law enforcement, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, resisting an officer, three counts of leaving the scene of an accident, running a red light, left of center, careless and reckless driving and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for the sale of a controlled substance.

He was taken to the Union County Jail and placed under a $500,000 bond.
