A partially-clad victim of a sexual assault in Prescott woke up in the front yard of an abandoned home, police said.
The man accused of the crime, 25-year-old Michael Soumokil, was arrested Monday and booked into the Yavapai County Jail on one count of sexual assault.
Police said Soumokil left a downtown bar early Sunday morning with the 23-year-old woman, who was friends with an acquaintance of Soumokil's.
The suspect and the victim shared a cab but the woman told police did not remember much after the cab ride.
She awoke outside an abandoned house on North Granite Street and discovered her pants and boots were missing, police said. She eventually found her clothing on the porch of the vacant house. Officers said they later located her boots near the scene.
An unidentified man helped the victim and called Prescott police.
The victim suffered a large bump on the back of her head and a swollen cheek.
The woman was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center and then to the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center. Evidence recovered indicated that she had been sexually assaulted, police said.
Soumokil did not cooperate with officers or investigators, police said.
