An 85-year-old man pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of his wife inside their Sun City home on November, according to a Maricopa County Superior Court spokeswoman.
George Frazey Sanders originally pleaded not guilty to killing his wife, Virginia Sanders, but changed his plea Tuesday. He will be sentenced March 29 before Judge John Ditsworth.
Virginia Sanders, 81 died of a gunshot wound to the head. Friends of the family said she had suffered from multiple sclerosis and her movement was limited to using a wheelchair.
Friends also said the couple were very happy together and that George Sanders had taken care of his wife for years.
