The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) says it has arrested a man who cut off his electronic monitor February 18.
23-year-old Anthony McCreary was wanted on outstanding warrants for possession of a firearm by a felon, assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, and interfering with his electronic monitor.
McCreary was ordered to wear the monitor as a condition of his release from jail on September 15, 2012.
On February 18, McCreary cut off his electronic monitor and was last seen near Kimmerly Glenn Lane in east Charlotte.
McCreary was the third offended monitored by CMPD to cut off his monitor in 2013. The first two have also been arrested.
In 2012, a total of 28 offenders cut off their monitors. CMPD says this is less than 2% of the offenders currently being monitored. All have been apprehended.
