More people than expected showed up to the Metrolina Gun and Knife show today in Charlotte.
Police had to add officers and patrols to handle the traffic coming to the Expo center down Highway 21 from Interstate 77.
Cars were backed up about a mile from the off ramp on Sunset Road to the expo center on Saturday morning.
As of 12:45pm traffic was reported by drivers as at a standstill on Hwy 21.
The Charlotte Fire department is on the scene, Captain Mark Basnight said, the Metrolina Expo Center is currently at capacity, presently Fire Inspectors are marshaling entry by allowing 20 patrons to enter as 20 exit.
So far there have not been any accidents reported in the area just a lot of traffic.
