A dozen or more cars were involved in a wreck on I-280 near Front Street this afternoon. That was just one of many accidents across the area Saturday as snow squalls made road conditions hazardous.
A multi-vehicle crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-280 near the I-75 interchange. Toledo Police say as many as 20 vehicles were involved. Emergency medical crews were called to the scene, but police couldn't say if anyone was taken to the hospital.
Another accident occurred around 12:30pm as 5 or 6 vehicles, including a semi, ended up slamming into each other on I-75 in Toledo. It happened near mile marker 202, not far from the Anthony Wayne trail exit.
Northbound lanes of US 23 from the Ohio-Michigan border to the I-475/US 23 split also were shutdown midday Saturday due to a multiple vehicle accident just across the border in Michigan. They were reopened around 2pm.
The Monroe County Central Dispatch also reported slick conditions caused major pile ups on the roadways including one incident on the northern end of Monroe County which involved up to 20 vehicles.
