In King Mountains on Saturday over a hundred people signed up for a Concealed Carry Weapons class.
The course which is put on by Carolinas First Defense is expecting 125 people from over ten counties in the area.
The course's primary instructor, Jesse Saucier who also works as a State Trooper for the North Carolina Highway Patrol says," Crime can happen anywhere and to anyone."
In the past 4 years Saucier has taught concealed carry weapons classes to more than 2000 people in North Carolina.
The course is a requirement to get a concealed weapons permit in North Carolina.
The course has been taken by all types of people from an 89 year old woman to a young man who was overcoming a stroke.
Saucier said he loves the fact that the class draws people of all ages, ethnicities and walks of life.
