Snow is making a return to our forecast across the Carolinas Saturday, prompting a Winter Weather Advisory through early Sunday.
An upper level disturbance riding along a frontal boundary will keep snow chances in the forecast through the afternoon. Accumulations are unlikely due to the relatively warm temperatures, but a few elevated surfaces like picnic tables may see a dusting. The hazardous portion of the system will affect us in the overnight hours. While the snow itself may not stick, wet roads during the day could form ice overnight, with lows slated to drop to near 20°.
Use caution on the roadways if you're heading out tonight or early tomorrow. In addition to potentially icy bridges and overpasses, strong winds are in the forecast, particularly for the High Country.
Temperatures should climb back above freezing in the late morning, quickly melting anything on the road.
