In late January, someone broke into Randy Marion Chevrolet in Mooresville, and stole a red 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 from the showroom floor.
The Camaro was valued at $58,500.
Now, the Mooresville Police Department says 45-year-old Vernon Edward Gardner of Lexington, South Carolina confessed to the crime. In fact, officers say Gardner confessed to stealing eight vehicles valued at about $600,000.
Gardner is facing several charges related to the stolen vehicles. He is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center in South Carolina under $375,000 bond.
