Cannon School junior swimmer Maija Roses is only 16 years old, but has already had a big impact not only at her school, but nationally.
She not only broke the state record in the 100 breast stroke to win a state title last year, but also claimed the state crown in the 200 individual medley.
Also last summer, she competed at the Olympic Trials.
This past offseason, she had hip surgery but she has rebounded nicely as she won the conference championship in both events last week.
The junior will be looking to defend her state titles February 18th.
Yes Olympics are on her mind, but with a 4.1 GPA and schools like Stanford, Virginia, and Duke looking at her, she knows swimming can lead her to greater things in life.
