STANLY COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -
A Stanly County man was arrested after an investigation into allegations of sexual assaults involving a juvenile, according to the Stanly County Sheriff's Office.
On January 29, deputies, on a referral from the Stanly County Department of Social Services, began investigating reports of a juvenile who had been sexually assaulted.
The offenses, the report states, were committed between January 1 and December 1 of 2008.
At the end of the investigation, warrants were issued for Gary Lee Stanley II, 29, of Robert Drive in Stanfield, North Carolina.
Stanley was arrested on Tuesday, February 12, and charged with first degree sex offense, felonious sex offense, indecent liberties with a child, and crimes against nature.
He was taken to the Stanly County Jail and placed under a $250,000 secured bond. Stanley has an initial court appearance on March 4.
