Tuesday afternoon, Butler High School became just one of 50 schools in the nation to receive a trophy from the Max Preps Tour of Champions, presented by the Army National Guard.
The Bulldogs ranked 7th in the final max preps poll, after capping an undefeated 15-0 season with a 4AA state title.
Coach Brian Hales says it's been a dream year but he hopes to have many more moments like he did today, "this award does a great deal as far as team building, it does a great deal as far as incentive for the younger kids and the underclassmen, to know that the crew before them got recognized".
Butler was also recognized by the Max Preps Tour of Champions in 2009, when the Bulldogs were ranked eighth in the country and again in 2010 when they were ranked No. 35.
