Alberto Morales, 41 was being transported from Miami, Florida, through Texas en route to a state prison in Nevada when he stabbed a Miami detective multiple times and escaped around 11:20 p.m., Monday.
Morales has a violent criminal past and received two life sentences for aggravated sexual assault. The injured officer is currently hospitalized.
Morales has been added to the Texas Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list, and a $10,000 cash reward is offered for information leading to his capture. He should be considered extremely dangerous.
