Police arrest man for hotel car break-ins in Monroe


Police in Monroe have arrested a man they say broke into several vehicles at a Monroe hotel.
On Feb. 6, four vehicles were broken into at the Hampton Inn on Roland Drive. 

Several GPS units, articles of clothing and alcoholic beverages were taken from the vehicles. Another vehicle was broken into in the parking lot at Tumbleweeds Bar and Grille at 2300 W. Roosevelt Blvd. on Monday.  A toolset and a large amount of cash were stolen from the vehicle. In all five cases, the vehicles were left unlocked. 

Donald Richard Brogsdale, III, 28 of Raleigh, is charged with five counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, four counts of misdemeanor larceny, one count of felony larceny, one count of possession of marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, according to a news release from the Monroe Police Department.

Brogsdale is in the Union County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
