Tornado rips Mississippi, will Carolinas get the same?

Good morning! It's Monday, February 11. Hope you had a great weekend. It's Christine Nelson, sending you a quick email on the stories that are making headlines this morning. Tune in now to WBTV News This Morning. We're on until 7 a.m.

The last 24 hours have been scary and intense for residents in Mississippi. The video we have in-house that we will show you on the air tells the whole story. You will see the single tornado responsible for damage to home and injuries. We're watching this system because it's moving east. Will it be as destructive when it gets to the Carolinas? Meteorologist Al Conklin answers that question and has your forecast every 10 minutes to get you prepared for the day.

Officials are calling it the biggest dog-fighting bust in Charlotte history. The two suspects police say are involved will be court to face charges. We are at Animal Care and Control this morning to let you know how the dogs are doing. WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee found out the cruel acts these dogs were forced to commit...and they have the scars to show for it.

Do you snore? It's a subject that we found out some people aren't taking seriously enough. WBTV's Astrid Martinez talks to a doctor who explains why it's bad for your heart.

I have to go now. See you on the air!
