A member of the Bobcats Basketball team offered assistance today to some women in need.
Brendan Haywood the Center for the Charlotte Bobcats visited the Salvation Army's Center of Hope Women and Children's Shelter today and offered his assistance to women and their children who are participating in the rapid re-housing program.
The program helps women transition from living in the shelter to living in market-rate housing by providing them with job resources and assistance.
Haywood in turn gave 15 unsuspecting woman and their children the gift of paid Duke Energy bills for one year.
He had approached the Bobcats community relations department and identified this program as one where he could help make a difference.
