Iredell County authorities say they got a 9-1-1 call from the area of Stumpy Creek Road around 10:30 Monday night. The fisherman's body was recovered about three hours later.More >>
A small fire broke out this morning at a building on the campus of UNC Charlotte.
Charlotte fire responded to the alarm, however a construction worker put out the small fire quickly with a portable fire extinguisher.
The fire started as a result of a torch being used by some construction workers which had caught some materials on fire.
Captain Rob Brisley of the Charlotte Fire department said that there were no injuries and that the fire had no impact on the students or faculty at the school.
