SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -
A Salisbury man was arrested on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop led to a search of his home, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.
On Thursday, February 7, officers stopped a vehicle on Webb Road. The driver, Ricky Ray Shackleford, 51, had just left his home on Fox Run Road, the report states.
Shackleford had a large quantity of prescription pain medication and cash in his possession during the traffic stop, officers said.
That led to a search warrant being executed at his home, where additional controlled substances and money were found. In total, approximately 1,000 dosage units of controlled substances, and over $17,000 in cash were seized.
Shackleford was charged on multiple counts of Level III Opium Trafficking. He was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center and placed under a $50,000 secured bond.
