GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) -
Gastonia Police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men they say are responsible for shoplifting at a local clothing store.
The incident happened at Kohl's department store on Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia on January 24.
Two men entered the store around 1 p.m., grabbed shopping bags, went to the men's clothing department, and began selecting a large quantity of pants and shirts, police said.
The clothing was placed in the bags and the men left the store without paying for 74 items, with a total value of $5,224.
The duo then jumped into a silver Mercury Marquis with an unknown driver and left the area, officials told WBTV.
One of the men was described as a black male, 5'8", weighing approximately 170 pounds.
The other was a described as black male, 5'6", weighing approximately 155 pounds.
Anyone with information to identify the suspects is asked to call Detective Heather Houser at (704) 836-0041, or Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at (704) 861-8000.
Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
