FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -
A Boone County nurse's assistant has been arrested for stealing items from residents at an assisted living facility.
Florence Police say Natasha Helton, 22, of Burlington was an employee at Colonial Gardens on Hopeful Road.
After receiving complaints from residents and the administration of Colonial Gardens that medication and personal belongings such as jewelry and money seemed to be missing from residents' rooms, investigators used video surveillance to gather enough evidence to charge Helton. She's charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking, three counts of theft of a controlled substance and one count of abuse or neglect of an adult by a caretaker.
The thefts appear to have taken place from December 2012 through February 2013.
Colonial Gardens is and has been cooperating with the investigation.
