Trio arrested for armed Cricket Mobile robbery, police say

Three men were arrested for robbing a local cell phone store at gunpoint in broad daylight, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cricket Mobile Store located on N. Tryon Street in northeast Charlotte.

Store employees told responding officers that masked men came in the store and ordered them to open the store's safe at gunpoint.

The employees were unable to open the safe, so the robbers took money from the cash registers and left the store, but not before a witness got a description of the car they fled in, police said.

A short time later, an officer saw the vehicle described by the witness on Hunter Oaks Lane and pulled the men over. Information and evidence gathered during the traffic stop identified the three men in the car as the trio from the armed robbery, officials told WBTV.

Jamel Christopher Hage, 25, Isaiah Stallworth, 20, and Jelani Burwell, 31, were arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.
