Trooper charged with DWI while on duty, resigns after arrest, troopers say

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A Trooper with NC Highway Patrol resigned this week after he was arrested for driving while impaired while on duty.

The N.C. Highway Patrol confirmed to WBTV that Trooper James Holbert, 36, resigned from the agency earlier this week.

Holbert, a seven year veteran of the state highway patrol, is charged with driving while imparied, according to a spokesman for the NC Highway Patrol.

He had been stationed at the Hendersonville Patrol Office since 2007 in Henderson County.
