PHOENIX (AP) -
Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett is scheduled to attend an economic forum later this week in New Mexico.
Bennett will join officials from other U.S. border states and Mexican economic development secretaries in Santa Fe. It's the inaugural Economic Forum of the National Lieutenant Governors Association and the Association of Mexican State Economic Development Directors.
The forum will include working sessions on transportation, education and workforce, exports, regionalization, and support for small and mid-size business.
During the forum, it's expected Bennett will sign an agreement of economic development cooperation with officials from Mexico.
The U.S. State Department says Mexico is the third largest trading partner of the United States.
Bennett says experts predict Mexico will become the world's eighth largest economy by 2050.
