GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Gastonia are looking for a man they say broke into a local pharmacy and stole $80,000 worth of prescription pills.

The burglary happened Thursday night not long after Akers Pharmacy, on East Garrison Boulevard, closed for the night, according to the report.

Officers responded to the store to check an alarm going off, and found that someone had smashed the glass to the front door to get into the store.

Once inside the store, police said, the man took approximately $80,000 worth of various medications.

Anyone with information about this or any crime should call police immediately.
