CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Arrest warrants made public Monday shed light into a late January sexual assault and attempted murder.

Ryan Lee Capps, 22, is charged with sexual battery, felony assault on handicapped, attempted first degree murder and first degree arson, according to arrests warrants.

Police say they were called to the 10300 block of Walkers Ferry Road on Jan. 25 to investigate an arson.

The arrest warrants indicate Capps inappropriately touched the handicapped woman, who lived in the home, against her will. The documents indicate he stabbed the woman, left her in the house and set it on fire in an attempt to kill her.

WBTV is protecting the identity of the victim.

"All of us in this community truly do like her and we want her to hurry up and come back home," said neighbor Cathy Bell.

Capps is being held without bond.
