MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -
A month-long investigation led to the arrest of a Mooresville man accused of statutory rape.
A woman filed a report with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office on December 23, 2012. She said she believed her husband was displaying inappropriate behavior with a juvenile female.
Detectives went to the juvenile's home, collected evidence and interviewed her. During the investigation, detectives say more information was uncovered and the juvenile was re-interviewed.
On January 31, 2013, detectives obtained five felony warrants for Statutory Rape of a 13,14, or 15-year-old by a person who is six or more years older than the victim. Detectives also obtained 20 felony warrants for Statutory Sex Offense of a 13, 14, or 15 Year Old by a person who is six years older than the victim.
39-year-old Daniel Ray Holliday of Island Forest Road in Mooresville was arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center. He received a secured bond of $200,000.
