Even though they return 4 starters, the 2013 Myers Park girls basketball team is a totally new program with multiple new players and a new coach.
After 5 years at Wingate University, legendary high school coach Barbara Nelson has returned to the high school ranks in a big fashion.
She has help lead the Lady Mustangs to a 19-0 record and the #1 ranking in the state at 4A.
This is a Myers Park program that went 31-1 last season and finished 1 game short of playing for the 4A state title.
This team has been dominate so far this season averaging 63 points per game and playing great defense as well as they average 17 steals per contest.
No doubt the goal is clear. They want that 4A state title and they certainly have the talent to get it done as well as the mental toughness. Something they admit they were lacking off of last year's team.
