A woman is in the hospital with serious injuries right now, after her minivan collided with a tractor trailer.
Police say the woman was traveling inbound near the 15-hundred block of Westinghouse Boulevard early Thursday morning, when she struck front of the semi. The impact of the crash caused gallons of diesel fuel to spill on the roadway. Police shut down the road for quite some time while crews cleaned it up. Both vehicles also suffered serious front-end damage.
Investigators say both drivers are at fault. They say the driver of the tractor trailer was parked on the side of the road. He attempted to make an illegal U-turn at the time of the crash. WBTV is told the woman was driving about 80 miles per hour, which is double the speed limit for that section of Westinghouse Boulevard.
