For the 2nd time this season, Charlotte 49ers junior guard DeMario Mayfield has been suspended from the team.
Today, coach Alan Major announced that Mayfield has been suspended indefinitely for violation of the athletic department policy.
Mayfield is the Niners leading scorer this season at 11.7 points per game. He has 14 games where he has scored in double figures this season. He has had that kind of production coming off the bench as he has only started 2 games this season.
Earlier this season, Mayfield was suspended for 2 games and he was also suspended for a game last season.
Charlotte is back in action Saturday when they host UMass at 2 PM.
