Alert neighbor calls police about break-in, duo arrested

Two women were arrested for their involvement in a series of vehicle break-ins in the Charlotte area, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Laquisha Norman, 22, and Kierita Solonge Coleman, 35, for their involvement in a series of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle cases they were involved with.  

On Monday, January 21, patrol officers were dispatched to a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle call in the 6700 block of Cow Hollow Drive.

A witness called 911 and reported seeing people breaking into his neighbor's vehicle. The witness gave a detailed description of the burglars and the SUV they were in, police said.

When officers arrived, the witness saw the two people walk towards an apartment breezeway. The officers located both, later identified as Laquisha Norman, 22, and Kierita Solonge Coleman, 35.

Evidence and information gathered during the investigation implicated both women in the original breaking and entering of the motor vehicle, officials told WBTV.

During the subsequent investigation, officers determined that the duo was also responsible for several other breaking and entering of motor vehicle cases. 

Both women were charged with four counts of breaking and entering (auto), four counts of larceny, and five counts of possession of stolen property.

Both Norman and Coleman have lengthy arrest histories in Mecklenburg County, police told WBTV.
