UNION COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -
A Union County man was arrested for a string of home and church break-ins in the area at the end of 2012, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office.
Johnny Ray Deese, Jr., 26, was arrested Monday afternoon for five home and two church burglaries, police said.
The burglaries happened from September to December, all in Union County. Victims of the thefts reported that electronics and jewelry were the primary targets. Detectives recovered some of the property, officials told WBTV.
Deese was charged with five felony counts of breaking and entering, six counts of larceny after breaking and entering, and two counts of break and enter at a place of worship.
He was taken to the Union County Jail and placed under a $10,000 secured bond. He has a court date set on March 5.
