The case was waived to the grand jury on Tuesday for a part time volleyball coach accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student in Northern Kentucky.
Cassie Elfers, 21, is the part-time volleyball coach at Sharp Middle School in Butler and is accused of having sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy who played sports at the school. On January 29th, she plead not guilty on one count of sexual abuse.
Elfers' attorney, Eric Deters, says there wasn't any sexual intercourse. He added that Elfers was not the volleyball coach at the time of the alleged sexual contact, but she was an assistant basketball coach for the boy's team. Elfers' ex-boyfriend coached the team and was close with the alleged victim.
Her bond remains at $2,500.
An indictment could be handed down on Wednesday when the grand jury next meets.
