CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
After more than a year, the
family of a 16 year old says frustration is growing because the man who killed
her has not been charged with anything.
Jasmine Thar was
visiting relatives in Chadbourn, North Carolina in December of 2011 when she
and two others were hit with the same bullet.
James Anthony Blackwell,
who lived across the street, pulled the trigger.
He claims his rifle
accidentally went off while cleaning it.
Blackwell was never charged because local
police believed him.
But, Thar's
family doesn't.
A rally was held
Saturday at a Charlotte Church to plead for justice.
The
teenager's family is working with the civil rights group, "True
Healing Under God."
They have also asked
Rev. Al Sharpton to join in their efforts, but so far, he hasn't.
