The final day of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Media Tour hosted by Charlotte Motor Speedway wrapped up with 2 stops at 2 contenders for the championship this season.
The first stop of the day was with Roush Fenway Racing and this company has a lot to prove this year after an up and down 2012.
Greg Biffle had a great regular season leading the points race for 15 weeks, but in the Chase he struggled to finish 5th. This year he wants to put a complete season together and with a Cup Title would claim NASCAR's triple crown (winning the Truck, Nationwide, and Cup Championship).
Meanwhile, after coming up a point short of winning it all in 2011, Carl Edwards didn't even make the Chase last season so he wants to get that bad taste out his mouth.
They will have a new driver in the #17 in Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The back to back Nationwide Champ is ready to make his mark in the Cup series and thinks the timing is perfect to make this move as everyone will be trying to figure out the new Gen 6 car as he is too is getting use to racing at the top level.
The final stop of the Tour was at Joe Gibbs Racing where Matt Kenseth now makes his home after years of driving for Roush in the #17 Ford. Joe Gibbs is certainly excited about his 3 car Cup line up and why not when you have both Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin as the other drivers.
It was announced today that Kyle Busch has signed a multi year deal to remain with JGR after this season. This would have been Kyle's last year under contract but he can now just worry about getting in the Chase after missing the playoffs last season.
Hamlin is looking to get back to the level of 2010 when he won 8 races and thinks the addition of Kenseth will drive him to get back to that status.
