Condo residents forced to evacuate after water main break

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Firefighters in Charlotte are allowing residents to return to their condos are a water main burst forced them to evacuate early Thursday morning.

The incident was reported at Latta Pavillion around 5 a.m. on the 1300 block of East Boulevard between Scott and Kenilworth Avenues.

Emergency officials say the water main caused significant flooding to the building.

County building inspectors worked through the morning to determine the integrity of the structure before allowing residents back in.

A fire official tells WBTV that 17 units were damaged.

No businesses were damaged.
