CONCORD, NC (WBTV) – Hendrick Motorsports is arguably one of the biggest competitors in the Sprint Cup Series, and that comes with high expectations, both from the team and the fans. Owner, Rick Hendrick, and his four drivers spoke this afternoon on what is in store for the upcoming season.
Hendrick said he's more confident this year in all four of his teams than last year. He went on to say the experience of his guys with the momentum from the end of last year's season will give them a good shot at winning the championship this year.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the number 88 car, commented on the drafting incident that happened during the Daytona practice session, "I thought long and hard about it and I think it's the most embarrassed I've been in a really long time." Furthering that he said the new Gen 6 cars draft more like the 2006-2007 series.
Five-time Sprint Cup Champion, Jimmie Johnson, said not winning last year has helped eliminate some pressure; he's got more of a clear head going into this season.
One more day until the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Media Tour wraps up, it will include press conferences for Rousch Fenway Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing.
