TUCSON, AZ (AP) -
One of three suspects accused of shooting at a Tucson officer last August has been convicted in the case.
Authorities say 20-year-old Sergio Rojo-Valenzuela was found guilty Tuesday of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
His sentencing date hasn't been set yet.
The other two suspects still are awaiting trial.
Police say the shooting occurred Aug. 12 as officers were trying to arrest three armed men. The suspects allegedly had been brandishing weapons and pointing them at people at a Tucson car wash.
A car chase ensued and police say one of the officers was fired on but escaped injury.
Rojo-Valenzuela was arrested in September.
