CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Bieber fever has officially gripped the Queen City. Who knew an 18 year old pop singer could bring uptown Charlotte to a standstill?

But that's exactly what happened Tuesday night when thousands of adoring fans, swarmed Time Warner Cable Arena where the singer performed.

Most of the fans, young girls were overcome with excitement, others with tears.

"I love Justin Bieber," said one fan tearfully. "I love him so much."

Another fan, Ashton Zogorean, came up from Charleston, SC to take in the show.

"Justin means, like the whole entire world to me," she said breathlessly. "You have no clue. I would do anything to meet him. I've been a Bieleber since 2009."

Bielebers, that's what the fans call themselves.

And 'the Biebs', as he's sometimes called, isn't just for the young but also the young at heart.

Just ask Ashton's mom, Celeste.

"Anything for the Biebs that's how we feel," she said proudly. "This mama has Bieber fever."

A fever so powerful, she didn't mind shelling out some serious cash buying five tickets at 100 bucks a pop.

"Not only has my daughter has been waiting for 8 months, but we've been hearing about non-stop," said Zogorean. "I got thousands of dollars invested in seeing this little Justin Bieber here."

But that's just how far fans are willing to go for the young man whose made millions singing to fans.

Leslie and Sarah Stalvey made the short trip from Mt. Holly to see Bieber.

"We came two years ago to his first concert in Charlotte," said Sarah Stalvey.

Apparently the two teens from Mount Holly didn't get enough that time and are back for more.

Another fun fact about Justin Bieber: he is now the most followed celebrity on Twitter, surpassing Lady Gaga with more than 33 million followers.
