A resident at an apartment complex off of Tyvola Centre Drive says she woke up around 7 a.m. Monday morning with no water. Shortly after, the management at the complex posted flyers on residents doors to alert them of the outage.
The reason - a large sinkhole opened up across the street.
By 4:30 p.m. the resident walked down the street to ask a utility crew when it might be turned back on.
Crews worked throughout the day to make repairs. Charlotte-Mecklengburg Utility said the road would be closed until midnight.
Just before 6 a.m. Tuesday, charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility said the road was open, but one lane would remain closed through the day for additional road repair.
