Some of the most prominent movers and shakers in Charlotte are wearing shirts, suits and ties with the William Wilson logo attached.
The company, named after its owner, got its start 4 years ago after William Wilson starting giving out fashion advice to friends for free.
4 years later, Wilson says his story is one of success. He also says it closely parallels the career of President Obama. "Here we are 4 years later and he's been re-elected and my company's been successful," said Wilson, from his shop on South Tryon Street.
Wilson has sent one of his silk ties to the White House now hoping Obama will wear it during his inauguration on Monday.
"The big motivation in my life is to make my Mom proud," said Wilson, "She knows I sent the tie. So if she calls me and she's like, 'Oh my gosh is that the tie?' That'll be where if there's a waterfall it'll be there,"
Wilson says his company's success has come from hard work and turning failures into success. He says The President wearing one of his original ties will only be icing on the cake.
