Posted: Updated:

Firefighters from Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue, Agricultural Center Volunteer Fire Department, and Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department responded to multiple vehicle fires that threatened a structure early Wednesday morning.

When crews arrived on the scene, they witnessed a sports utility vehicle and a pull behind camper, fully engulfed in flames and several feet from a residence, according to a news release from the Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue.

Crews from all responding departments extinguished the flames in approximately 45 minutes, without the fire spreading to the nearby structure.

The residence did sustain cosmetic damage to the siding of the home.

15 personnel along with multiple apparatus responded to the call, which was originally dispatched as a structure fire, according to the release.
The Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force is investigating the cause.
