Two men are behind bars in Tennessee in connection with two business thefts in Watauga County.
41-year-old Kevin Mark Buchanan and 22-year-old Jacob Ray Rash of Mountain City, Tennessee are expected in court January 24.
Deputies say the first report of a theft occurred December 12 when High Country Recycling on US Highway 421 North in Vilas reported someone stole approximately $300 in scrap metal and copper.
Then on December 20, deputies received a report from Ward's Automotive on Willowdale Church Road, also in Vilas. There, someone took $150 in currency, vehicle radiators, aluminum wheels, a Diagnostic Car Scanner, a computer, and a 1999 Ford F150.
Deputies in Watauga County sent information to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee. Deputies there investigated and found the Ford F150 that was stolen from Watauga County.
Johnson County Sheriff's Deputies arrested two suspects on December 25.
The two suspects were interviewed by the Watauga County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit and subsequently charged.
Buchanan and Rash are each charged with one count misdemeanor larceny, one count felony breaking and entering, one count felony larceny, and one count felony larceny of a motor vehicle.
The men are in the custody of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, pending extradition to North Carolina.
