Police arrest man wanted in west Charlotte bank robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte say they have arrested a man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank last week.

Williard Marion Grier, 34, is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to a news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police say Grier entered the Wells Fargo Bank located at 2803 Freedom Drive on January 9th. He approached a teller and presented a note, demanding cash, before crawling up onto the counter and removing money from a teller's cash drawer, according to the release.

Police arrested Grier without incident on Monday.
