Tip leads investigators to meth lab

A tip led Lincoln County investigators to a meth lab in Iron Station.

Investigators went to a home in the 1900 block of Scenic Way last week and found methamphetamine precursors "in plain site".

Catawba County narcotics investigators and the SBI were called in to assist.

Some of the precursors were packed as evidence. The rest was destroyed.

Two days later, officers arrested 19-year-old Chaz Tylor Roark of Iron Station.

Roark is charged with one felony count each of Possession/Distribute Meth Precursor and Manufacturing a Controlled Substance Schedule II. He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
