CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – A cold front will become stationary over the Southeast today, bringing heavy rain and a chance for isolated flooding through Wednesday.
Southwesterly winds over the weekend brought with them record warmth and moist air to provide fuel for showers until the system finally exits by the middle of the week.
Before it does, up to four inches of rain with isolated higher amounts could soak the North Carolina mountains. In the Piedmont, at least one to two inches can be expected.
Once the system pushes East, much cooler temperatures return to the forecast.
